The Loomis Family has been in business since 1905. The family business was founded by E.C. Loomis, the great-grandfather of Dan Loomis (the current president of Loomis Tank Centers). E.C. started in business as a grain and hay broker on the central coast of California in the small town of Arroyo Grande. His sons later joined the business, creating E.C. Loomis & Sons Feed.
In 1935, they built a feed mill in San Luis Obispo and added several retail locations. Ivan, one of E.C.’s sons, had two boys: Richard (Dan’s father) and John. They also joined the family business.
