Loomis Tank Centers is proud to announce a new tool on our web site that allows individuals to more easily find septic service professionals in their area. We have been getting several calls daily from for pumping services and have been unable to offer a solution until now.

The new extension of our site is comprised of an interactive map containing over 280,000 listings for ONLY septic service professionals. Users can locate service providers visually, rather than having to wade through the myriad of search engines and book listings.

Loomis Helps Local Family Through PolyHouse 2010

Seven years ago, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering grad students at CalPoly started a project called PolyHouse to help local families in need. If you have ever watched ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition, this will sound familiar.

The PolyHouse blog described this year’s project as “28 students, 6 weeks of planning, 6 days of construction, $160,000 fund raising goal, a deserving family in the community all combined to produce a renovated home and a project management “learn-by-doing” experience.” The recipient of the renovation this year was the Todd family, whose son Caleb has achondroplasia dwarfism and hydrocephalus and has already had 10 brain surgeries in his young life. PolyHouse participants worked to raise money and remodel many parts of the house, including a bathroom that was custom built to accommodate Caleb’ needs. Green From the Ground Up

This is an excerpt from the movie “Green From the Ground Up” directed by Tracy Trotter & Joe Campanelli. The film is about a prototype eco-home in Santa Barbara, CA. built by Joe Campanelli Construction. Joe’s vision was to build an all green home with a sustainable approach in its use of energy, natural resources, materials, water, waste and how it compliments the natural setting of the area. It received over 400 points in Built Green SB that is well over the 220 points required for a 3 star rating. The video clip shows the involvement of Loomis Tank Centers, Wilson Environmental Landscape Design & Rain Harvesting Inc’s involvement in the project.

Alt-Build Expo

On May 8^th and 9^th of 2009, Dan Loomis, President and Mark Brokaw, General Manager attended the 2009 Alt Build Expo in Santa Monica, CA. They along with over 120 other exhibitors participated in the 6^th Annual event held at the Santa Monica Civic Center Auditorium. Santa Monica has set high standards for building construction and its green building program actively promotes green building technologies and practices through education, outreach and incentives. Almost 10,000 building professionals, homeowners, developers and regulatory officials came to learn and take part in cutting edge developments in the field of green building from the array of diverse exhibitors and from a series of lectures by renowned experts.

The Loomis Tank Centers booth featured models of the Loomis Rain Harvesting and grey water systems. The hundreds of people that stopped by the booth and visited with Dan and Mark were provided with information regarding our line of polyethylene, fiberglass and galvanized steel above and below ground water tanks as well as the variety of rain harvesting and grey water components needed to complete the appropriate system.

Both agreed that there was a tremendous amount of interest in both rain collection and reusing grey water. They definitely plan on attending this very professionally run expo next year May 7^th and 8^th 2010.

A-1 Irrigation & Hardware’s 11th Annual Customer Appreciation Day

On Saturday April 25^th, Dan Loomis, President attended A-1 Irrigation & Hardware’s 11^th Annual Customer Appreciation Day held at A-1’s facility in Valley Center, CA. A-1 is a Do It Best Hardware Center and is owned by Jack Bose and managed by Stuart Holthaus. They offer a wide variety of products related to irrigation systems, hardware, plumbing and heating, home and garden building materials, farm supplies, water storage and septic systems and much, much more. A-1 is a top Loomis distributor. They market a high volume of poly water and septic tanks in San Diego and Riverside Counties.

Dan was one of many vendors attending the event. In addition to visiting the exhibit booths the over 500 attendees were treated to a BBQ beef lunch, a raffle that included a variety of prizes including a voucher for a $1000.00 shopping spree and a local Hot Rod Exhibition.
