The UV stabilized polyethylene resin used to manufacture Loomis tanks protects the tank from the harmful effects of the sun. No expensive concrete or gravel pad needed.
Maintenance Free - Once you purchase and install a Loomis plastic tank, you can rest at ease. These poly tanks require virtually zero maintenance. Loomis tanks are typically offered in dark green or black opaque colors, which helps prevent algae growth. Unlike steel tanks, poly tanks are non-corrosive and rust proof. This virtually eliminates the need to periodically enter the tank and clean out the rust and sediment that accumulates in the bottom of steel tanks. Corrosion in steel tanks will eventually cause pinhole leaks which need to be patched and repaired. This undue hassle is not necessary with Loomis Tanks. In the unlikely event of damage to the poly tank, they can be easily repaired with poly cord and a heat gun.
